One of my Stampin’ Up!® goals for 2009 is to create some interest in scrapbooking. If you’re not a scrapbooker, don’t stop reading yet! While scrapbooking can be a time-consuming, expensive hobby, it doesn’t have to be, and there are few other hobbies that give such lasting results. I’ve been scrapbooking for almost a decade, and I love to sit down and look back at albums from several years ago. A scrapbook is so much more personal than a photo album because it includes the story along with the pictures. Whether you’re a novice or a long-time scrapbooker, our scrapbook kits make scrapbooking fun and easy; each kit includes coordinating textured cardstock, patterned paper, and self-adhesive die cuts and borders. The kits are available in a variety of themes and color schemes.
On Saturday, April 18th - 10-3 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to make easy and beautiful scrapbook pages in a cost-effective manner. Working with your chosen Simply Scrappin’® kit, you’ll create 14 -16 6x6 scrapbook pages in about three hours. Besides your wonderful pages, you’ll go home with informative handouts and copies of the Scrap Maps we use so that you can create even more pages at home.
A 2.5-hour scrapbook class at local retailers can cost up to $25 and you create two or three pages. The fee for my scrapbooking class is $40 with pre-pay registration. You can save 10% off the registration fee by having a friend register that hasn’t been to one of my Stampin’ Up! events. Your registration fee includes: a scrapbooking kit, guided instruction, 10 sheets 12x12 white cardstock, 5 sheets of 8.5x11 cardstock in coordinating colors, 5 yds. ¼” grosgrain ribbon in coordinating color, handouts, Scrap Maps, use of my stamps and ink pads, snacks, and a small goodie bag. There will be a great door prize, too! All you need to bring is a paper trimmer (large enough to cut 12” paper), scissors, and plenty of photo-safe adhesive. Pictures are optional as you can place them in at a later date. If you have a VersaMark® pad or a stamp set that coordinates with your kit, you may want to bring that, too.
All participants will receive a 10% discount on select scrapbook supplies ordered through me at the time of registration or at the class. You can take 10% off of the following: Dotto Adhesive and refill (p. 191), Snail Adhesive and refill (p.191), Journaling pens (p. 190), Paper trimmer (p. 189), Paper snips (p. 189), VersaMark pad (p. 190), Albums (p. 187), Page protectors (p. 187), Kraft Keepers (p. 187) and Paper holders (p.197). Note that I will be pre-ordering at the end of March which occurs during
To sign up for the class, email me for the registration form and return the bottom portion to me along with your payment BY MARCH 25th. If you’re taking advantage of the discount on scrapbook supplies, call or email me first so I can give you your total. S&H calculated before discount. You can see the Simply Scrappin’ kit choices in the catalog on pages 162-165 or online at www.stampinup.com.
*Please note this is a stamp camp so coupons are not allowed.
Finally, a few other times during the year, I’ll host a crop at my home. Bring your own supplies and photos and scrap the night away. The fee will be $6, and you can use my stamp sets, inkpads, punches, and the Big Shot to add titles, die cuts and other embellishments to your pages. You don’t have to place any orders – just enjoy uninterrupted time to work on your albums or cards.
I hope you’ll join me for a fun day of scrapbooking.

This set is well loved (especially by my 7 yr old neice!) but it never seems to get old.
I even made wedding favors for my neices and nephews and son with it! (we had a very small wedding with just immediate family so everyone got a little something!) I will post that pic in this post too!
Here are the 2 cards I just made. One blonde and one with brown hair!! I also didn't put any words on so I can grab for any occasion!! We are due for snow so thought I would bring some BRIGHT SPRING cheer into my house!! I used some misc. pattern paper I had in my scrap box and some Bold Brights SU cardstock!
Hope you enjoy!!
and here are the bubbles from my wedding 17 mos ago (tomorrow to be exact since Al was born on our 1 yr anniversary and he will already be 17 mos...where does the time go?)

I have to take a moment to send out a big congratulations to my niece, Rachael, who was recently selected to go to New York to model in an IMTA competition. She is SO very excited and we are SO very proud of her. Never mind that she just got her license, too!! (and I feel older by the second!)
Rachael has been working hard to raise funds for her trip. I have to say...wow, expensive! If you want information on how you can sponsor her with a tax deductible donation, email me. Please keep Rachael in your thoughts and prayers as she prepares for this exciting time in her life!Credits: Frame/mask by Joanne Brisebois

Thank you for all your well wishes! I am not 100% but I think I am better...Alex woke at 4am for the day so I don't know if I am just tired...
I wanted to check out the MOJO Monday sketches since I love the cards I see made with them. I did go thru some and found this sketch.
I thought it would help me get a stamp set out and make a card!! and it did!
I found some watercolor paper I had and took out my A Kind Word set. This was first on my list when the new catalog came out! I just love it!
I really liked using the watercolor paper and will have to order some when I place my next SU order. What I have is thin and cheap but it worked ok! I took out my blender pens and Stampin' Pastels and went to work!
I forgot to add the words when I glued down the center so it is a bit messy but looks ok!
OH OH OH and I got out my Ribbon bundle from the Sale A Bration mini...OH I LOVE IT!! It feels so good!! Makes me want to get more!! (which I plan to!!)

I have a wedding shower in a few weeks and wanted to get a jump on the gifts. I had a hard time finding a paper set that yelled "pick me!" and i just fell in love with this SEI set, Penelope's Potpourri. This is a kit you can get and all the pieces are cut and you just glue and go. I did add a little more and took some away to make it more personalized.
I need to get more of this paper for the recipe box and address book I plan to do also.
I am hoping to get stamping later today. I just don't feel really good (achy, sore throat ect) so may just take it easy.
Thank you for looking and as always, thank you for your comments!

I have really wanted to start scrapbooking again and spent most of my day Friday cleaning, organizing, trashing ect in my craft room and got out Al's pictures.
Of course when I printed these pictures back in June, I apparently didn't go much younger than 3 mos. I have to have Tom show me how to use the new photo printer to get earlier ones printed but in the meantime...I mine as well start somewhere!
I have so much of Christian's to do too but if I start slow...they will eventually get done...RIGHT!!
For the first one, I broke out the Circle Scissors Plus for the moon shape on the top right...it wasn't supposed to look like that but I liked it so I kept it! I am waiting for the glass mat to come in my next SU order so I used my healing mat and the needle did get stuck a few times. I also used my tiny punch for all the circles...
I just love this picture and knew I wanted to scrap it right away!!
The Second (2 page LO) needs jouranling but I love the colors. Isn't he so handsome!! His friend Lizzy got him that onesie (back in the day) I can't believe these pictures were taken over a year ago...They get big so fast.

Here is a card I created with a sketch. I am trying to get out of using the dark, fall/wintry colors and push for SPRING!
Don't you love the edge I made with the spiral punch! I finally remembered to put it on my order and you will see it used a lot!!

For this month's Techniques Club, we did kissing, dry embossing and wheels!
1. Kissing technique...I thought with Valentines right around the corner, kissing would be perfect!! I used some of my left over card kits from the open house and since my Tech Club couldn't make it there...these would be perfect!
2. Dry Embossing technique...how cute is this!! I have to admit, I like the dry embossing look and may have to get some more Classy Brass templates (page 186 in the SU catty) *remember to use a lighter color cardstock or it is hard to see thru on the light table! We decorated a pocket photo album for with this technique!!
3. Wheels technique...how great to make your own background paper? or just a strip?? It is important to use the wheel guide (page 191) as it makes it SO SO much easier!! I just love the neighborhood wheel. how fun!!
If you couldn't make it to this club meeting, be sure to check out the March date (TBD) All are welcome but please RSVP so I get the supplies cut for you!! Always check my website too (sarahcoyle.stampinup.net)

I was so planning it on Friday when my new goodies got here but, as any mother can tell you...plans don't always work out! I had to take Chris (my 10 yr old) to the doctor first thing Friday morning. He has been complaining of heart burn (his heart hurts as he said) and he does in fact have some acid reflux and is on some meds.
Then this weekend was time to open the attic and finally put some baby stuff and misc. stuff away!!
Anyway...I do plan to get the new stuff out but until I do, I did put up the Decor Elements I got Chris in his room!!
I was so excited to find something for a 10 yr old in the land of SU brochures!! He has been skiing since he could walk and just had to get the skiier!! (course now he wants to try snowboarding and did inform me I needed to now get the snowboarder too!!
Here is the before and after. I love how the black makes it look like a shadow. His walls are a buckskin color (that is what the paint can said!) It is above his bed and looks super cool! He will be psyched (or as he would say...sick!)
REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE DECOR ELEMENTS LINK TO THE RIGHT FOR MORE GREAT STUFF!

First, I did case from the SCS gallery. Course my colors are a bit different and I would LOVE to promise but can't that this will be the last of orange, brown and green for awhile. I will try to break out the spring colors soon!!

Nancy from my blogger group, was in charge of February's challenge. I had to spend some time just looking at the sketch and thinking. I was really struggling with it so I spent some time in the SCS gallery (not that I need a challenge to get me to go there!!)
I saw so many great things and came up with this!
Her challenge had some rules...blue/green colors, use the sketch and it had to be a Valentine. Since I made more than enough Valentines, I chose this since I could use it for most any occasion! half the punched dots are popped up too!!
Tell me what you think...maybe I didn't pass this challenge??
Priceless stamp set

Alex got up at 5 this am so I planned and got my cleaning done early so I could stamp today!! yeah!!
Here is a card I made up using some of my Open House leftovers! I didn't put any sentiments or words on since I could use this for just about any occasion and can pick when I need it!!
Don't you LOVE this pattern paper...It can be YOURS FOR FREE!! Yup, I said FREE. This is a great pack of paper that is available in the Sale-A-Bration brochure...What a fantastic time of year to buy your Stampin' Up! supplies!! (click the brochure to the right to see more!)
